Centon is an environmentally conscious organization committed to protecting and preserving our planet. We strive to minimize our impact on the earth by eliminating toxic materials from our manufacturing process and by using recyclable materials where ever possible. |
Recyclable Packaging |
 |
Centon's retail packaging is made of recyclable materials. The ink which is used on our inserts is made of organic soy derived materials. |
RoHS |
 |
Centon is committed to the reduction and, when possible, the elimination of the hazardous substances. We are currently manufacturing lead-free products in DDR3, DDR2, DDR, and lower speed memory module configurations, with the only limiting factor being the availability of the pertinent PCB and related components in lead-free form. Our production is experiencing high yields and we do provide a lead-free certification as required by our customers. |
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive (2002/96/EC) |
 |
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive is a European law that went into effect on 13th of August 2004. The WEEE Directive is designed to encourage and regulate the collection, reuse, recycling and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment, for which it sets targets. This directive aims to improve our environment, reduce risks to human health through the proper treatment of discarded goods. The necessity of recycling these items and preventing them going to landfill is well set out in an EEB (European Environmental Bureau) report.
Centon praises this EU move, which enhances the world we all live in, and is taking the necessary steps to be in full compliance to this directive. |
