SD Card Association


Centon has belonged to the SD Card Association for many years. We have lead the way in the advancement of the flash technology and introduced many new products in both retail packaging offerings and custom OEM applications. In August of 1999, Matsushita (best known by its Panasonic brand name), SanDisk, and Toshiba first announced an agreement on a comprehensive collaboration to jointly develop and promote a next generation secure memory card called the SD Memory Card. With a physical profile of 24 mm × 32 mm × 2.1 mm, the new card provided the next generation of flash card technology.

Compact Flash Organization


Centon belongs to the Compact Flash Organization and has for many years. CF was among the first flash memory standards to compete with the earlier and larger PC card Type I memory cards, and was originally built around Intel's NOR-based flash memory. CF is among the oldest and most successful formats, and has held on to a niche in the professional camera market especially well and the custom OEM applications market.
