Custom Engineered Designs
Centon works closely with its customers to understand their needs and clearly define the technical requirements. We have years of experience assisting customers with custom design when standard JEDEC designs don’t meet their needs. Using advanced CAD software, our experienced engineering staff creates board designs that optimize performance. We stand by the integrity of our designs through modeling, simulation, and rigorous in-platform testing.
BOM Control
Centon provides full control of Bill of Material, which means that the key components in the product remain absolutely consistent. This applies to the PCB, Dram, flash components, controller, EEPROM as well as firmware and SPD on the product (if applicable). All of these components are specified by unique part numbers and revisions. This ensures consistent control and quality is always achieved 100% of the time. In case Centon needs to change one of the components, in most cases, we will be able to issue PCN with 2 months pre-notification and 6 months last time buying. In some instances when a component manufacture does not notify Centon in time we will provide the best case solution we can offer.
Inventory & Vendor Management
With over 31 years experience in the semiconductor industry, Centon has developed strategic relationships with key IC suppliers both at the wafer manufacturing level and in the spot market. These relationships provide supply assurance of critical components even during tight market conditions. We remain vendor neutral, which allows us to apply the appropriate integrated circuits for the job and at the lowest possible cost. For customers with long term projects, Centon offers inventory storage programs to ensure the qualified product is available for the entire life of your project.
Quality Systems
At Centon we practice total quality control throughout the organization with the goal of preventing quality issues before they arise. Our ERP systems allow us to collect data for traceability, trend analysis, and statistical process control via our GCR, PCA, and SCAR systems. Real-time analysis of this data enables Centon to find trouble areas and take corrective action before problems occur. Our entire production process is controlled through the ISO9001 standard.
Conformal Coating
Centon Electronics, Inc. offers conformal coating services for applications used in Military and Commercial Electronics Systems as well as Aerospace and Medical devices. Any application that requires electronics to be protected from its environment becomes a good candidate for conformal coating. Conformal coating is the process of applying a polymer protection layer to the surface of an electronic device.
Here are some advantages of conformal coating:
- Provides a barrier to oxygen, moisture, chemicals, solvents, and carbon dioxide
- Chemical and fungal resistance
- Provides a barrier to ionic and moisture species
- Provides dielectric protection
- Resists corrosion
Applications that will expose electronics to hostile or sterile environment will benefit from conformal coating.
