I recently purchased a Centon Datastick Sport 8GB. How do I password protect it so my files are safe in case I lose it?

Centon offers DataStick products that feature encryption/password protection (both software and hardware embedded solutions) – for more information on those products, please refer to the link below.
www.centon.com/products/usb/solutions/data-encryption

For DataStick products that do not feature any built-in encryption options or password protection, this functionality can be added with aftermarket software solutions. There are a myriad of aftermarket solutions available – both paid and free. Here are some links to open-source (free) applications for your USB drive.

TrueCrypt - www.truecrypt.org
AxCrypt - www.axantum.com/AxCrypt/
FreeOTFE - www.freeotfe.org

Other links… (may be paid or free)
download.cnet.com/windows/encryption-software/
Encryptx SecurFlash - www.encryptx.com

If the above products do not meet your needs, you can also search for other password-protection / encryption solutions for USB flash drives. Try Google, Bing, CNET, Tucows, SourceForge, or any number of other search engines.

I just wrote a guide on how to encrypt a usb drive with trucrypt. Hope this helps you out, it's pretty simple and trucrypt is one of best, if not the best, open source piece of encryption software.

Good luck.
