I purchased an 8GB craze.
My problem is that the backlight is set to rainbow mode. It changes the color of the backlight with every button press. There doesn't seem to be any 'backlight mode' option. There is 'backlight' option but that just seem to be selecting the timer.There is no option for "Backlight Color".
The options under SYS menu are
System Time
Back light
Language
Power Off
Contrast
On line Mode
Memory Info
Firmware Version- 2009/07/22 9.6.56.1012
Key tone

A firmware update has been provided that that should fix this issue. However, this update DOES NOT apply to all players.

Firmware is compatible if:

• The Centon player is one of the Craze Series (4GBCRAZE.01, 4GBCRAZE.02, 4GBCRAZE.03, 4GBCRAZE.04, 4GBCRAZE.05, 8GBCRAZE.01, 8GBCRAZE.02, 8GBCRAZE.03, 8GBCRAZE.04, 8GBCRAZE.05) MP3 players, AND
• The numbers "1236S" are inscribed in the USB connector for the player, AND
• The firmware version on the player is "2009/09/25 9.6.56.1015"

All of the above criteria must be met for this firmware to be compatible and work correctly.

If your player does not meet all of the above criteria, DO NOT download or update your player with this firmware. Use of this firmware on any Centon MP3 player that does not meet all of the above criteria will disable the player and void its warranty. You have been warned.

By downloading and installing this firmware update on your player, user agrees that ANY USE BY YOU OF THE SOFTWARE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED FOR USE "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.

The above ZIP archive includes both the production tool and the firmware file.

1. Extract the zip files, and install the MP tool by double clicking the file MSien.msi. (Do not use the file Setup.exe as it is for the Chinese version.)

2. After completing the installation, plug the Craze Player into the USB port, and run the Program from Start --> Programs --> Media Player Product Tool 5.30 --> Mass Product Tool.

3. The new window appears, and you can browse the FW file, (please use the file CENTON_2035_12832_100312.fw from the unzipped folder) to replace the previous version.

Oh man that upgrade did it. I HATED that rainbow thing.
